My Journey from Brazil to Florida

I started my journey in Brazil, the lively and colorful country where I was born and where I had all my early experiences. Growing up there, I was surrounded by a mix of language, culture, and traditions that really shaped who I am.

Growing up, my faith was a big part of my life, giving me a sense of direction and purpose. God helped me navigate life's ups and downs and taught me the importance of compassion and helping others. Being surrounded by this supportive environment, I found my passion for lending a hand, inspired by the strong sense of community I see throughout Brazilian culture.

After living in Brazil for many years, I took a big leap of faith nine years ago and moved to Florida. It wasn't just about changing the view; it was diving into something new and unknown, with all the excitement and nerves that come with it.

When I got to Florida, I found a mix of cultures and communities that reminded me of the diversity I loved back in Brazil. This new place gave me chances to grow and succeed, but it also threw some challenges my way that really tested my resilience.

Like many immigrants, I learned what it means to rebuild life step by step. Over the years, much of my professional work has been dedicated to supporting the Brazilian community with legal documentation, translations, notarial services, apostilles, and guidance through important paperwork. It has been meaningful work because behind every document there is usually a family, a dream, a new beginning, or an important life transition.

But as rewarding as that work has been, it also required focus, responsibility, and emotional energy. I began to feel the need for a peaceful space — something gentle, creative, and restorative. A place where my mind could slow down and my spirit could breathe.

That is when Shoreline Creations by Sonia was born.

Finding Peace by the Shore

I have always loved the ocean and the beach. There is something deeply calming about the sound of the waves, the softness of the sand, the beauty of shells, driftwood, sea glass, and the quiet colors of the coast.

For me, the shoreline is more than a beautiful place. It is a reminder of God’s creation — peaceful, detailed, strong, and full of grace. Every shell, every piece of glass, every natural texture carries a sense of beauty that cannot be rushed.

Creating coastal pieces became a way for me to stay connected to that peace. It became a quiet moment with my hands, my thoughts, and my faith. What started as a relaxing creative outlet slowly became something more meaningful: a way to bring the calm of the beach into everyday spaces.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed using coastal-inspired materials such as shells, sea glass, sand, driftwood, rope, wood, glass, beads, and natural textures. Some pieces are soft and neutral. Others carry a gentle touch of color. Many are inspired by the beauty of the ocean, as well as by the quiet reassurance of faith.

My desire is not only to create decoration. My desire is to create pieces that make you pause.
